Treatment of Obesity:

Get Help Now >

Thank you for your interest in the Natural Medicine approach to treating disease and healthy living! Caring Medical is currently a full time Prolotherapy doctor's office, headed by Ross Hauser, MD and we are blessed to fill the needs of patients seeking an alternative to surgery. We are accepting new patients and athletes suffering from chronic pain, sports injuries, and arthritis for treatment with Prolotherapy. Due to this large demand in Prolotherapy, we are not currently accepting new patients for natural medicine conditions, this includes autoimmune conditions, weight loss, menopause, hormones, or cancer. Through the years, we have seen so many lives turn around for the better with some of the methods discussed on this page, and encourage you to seek a Natural Medicine practitioner at www.acam.org.

The Response of Modern Medicine
Many individuals who seek medical help for obesity have usually tried repeatedly to lose weight any number of ways, usually in the form of diets, the choice of which is never-ending and ever-increasing. In addition, individuals may have tried over-the-counter weight-loss aids, most of which are ineffective, and some of which are actually dangerous. And although most everyone knows the value of exercise, establishing a routine of physical activity is difficult for most individuals and especially so when excess weight is involved.

Traditional medical treatment for obesity focuses on calorie reduction, increasing physical activity and decreasing alcohol consumption if excess alcohol consumption is a factor in the obesity. The problem with low-calorie diets is that although the patient may lose weight initially, the diet causes the metabolism to slow, making it difficult to exercise and continue the weight loss without reducing caloric intake even more.

The Hauser Diet Natural Medicine Approach to Obesity
People who struggle with weight issues, particularly those who are obese, need natural medicine. Our approach is test a patient’s body chemistry and overall health to get to the root cause of the weight gain. This program is designed for the person who has a chronic condition, such as obesity, and is ready to take a serious step in getting to the root cause of their condition. Ross Hauser, MD and Marion Hauser, MS, RD have developed this program over years of experience in both the traditional and natural medicine fields. As a New Patient, the individual tests and consultations each play a significant role in the program. In other words, we use the minimum number of tests that will tell us the maximum amount of information, to help you attain optimum health. That is what the Hauser Diet® Natural Medicine Program is all about.

Good Candidates for our Natural Medicine Program include patients who want to seriously utilize the principles of the Hauser Diet®, are motivated to make necessary lifestyle modifications, are willing to start an aggressive herbal program, and in some cases take natural hormone replacement, or do other natural medicine modalities as needed.

Hauser Diet® Typing

Hauser Diet® Typing is a testing method that shows what foods an individual needs to eat for optimal energy. A person’s Hauser Diet Type is determined by the physician after two distinct tests are performed: a modified glucose tolerance test and a blood pH test. There are five Hauser Diet Types, and each is a different breakdown of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. These span the dietary spectrum from high protein and low carbohydrate, to vegetarianism and low fat. Each Diet Type is named after an animal that eats a similar macronutrient (protein, fat, carbohydrate) breakdown. The five Hauser Diet Types are The Lion Diet Type®, The Otter Diet Type®, The Bear Diet Type®, The Monkey Diet Type®, and The Giraffe Diet Type®.By eating for your Diet Type, an overweight person is able to increase his or her metabolic rate, thus speeding up metabolism and losing weight.

Exercise also plays a role in weight and obesity. As a patient becomes able to exercise, he or she will be encouraged to start on a sensible exercise program to raise heart rates and burn fat. Supplements would also be prescribed to enhance the above effects and accelerate weight loss and fat reduction. In summary, the Hauser Diet approach to obesity takes traditional medical treatments one step further by testing for underlying conditions and factors contributing to the weight gain, and customizing diet, exercise and supplements to affect healthy and successful weight loss and maintenance.
