We are accepting new patients and athletes suffering from chronic pain, sports injuries, and arthritis for treatment with Prolotherapy. Due to this large demand in Prolotherapy, we are not currently accepting new patients for natural medicine conditions, this includes autoimmune conditions, weight loss, menopause, hormones, or cancer. Through the years, we have seen so many lives turn around for the better with some of the methods discussed on this page, and encourage you to seek a Natural Medicine practitioner at www.acam.org.

Myositis refers to several different illnesses, including polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and inclusion body myositis. All forms of myositis involve chronic or persistent muscle inflammation, which almost always results in weakness and can result in swelling and pain of the muscles. Myositis diseases are rare. In the United States, it is estimated that each year five to 10 out of every one million people will develop one of the forms of myositis.

How does myositis develop?
Myositis diseases are thought to be autoimmune diseases, meaning that the body's immune system, which normally fights infections and viruses, does not stop fighting once the infection or virus is gone. The immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own normal, healthy muscle tissue, resulting in inflammation, or swelling. Myositis can affect many parts of the body. Sometimes the joints, heart, lungs, intestines, and skin can become inflamed. All of these diseases can cause muscle weakness, but each type is different. There is no known cause of myositis. Some scientists think that myositis results when a person with a certain genetic background is exposed to particular chemicals, viruses, or other infectious agents.

What are the symptoms of myositis?
Early indications of inflammation of the muscles may include difficulty in rising from a chair, climbing steps or lifting the arms; falling; becoming exceedingly fatigued after prolonged standing or walking; loss of strength throughout the body; and sometimes difficulty in swallowing and labored breathing.

Conventional medical treatments may help relieve the symptoms of myositis diseases but they do not address the root of the problem. Generally, by undergoing comprehensive natural medicine testing, the reasons the body is producing antibodies against itself can be found. Some of these reasons include sensitivities or allergies to foods, inhalants and chemicals and various infections.

Discover why we believe that natural medicine treatments are the best way to treat myositis diseases.
