Relief from Sciatica Pain
< Back
Dear Dr. Hauser,
I am writing this to you as a most sincere and happy letter of
thanks to you for your professional services in treating my sciatica
pain with Prolotherapy.
My sciatica was with me for fourteen months when I came to your
office. I had been in extreme and constant pain in my right hip
and right leg when I stood or walked. Thankfully, I would get relief
only in a sitting position or lying down.
You advised me that it would probably take between four and six
treatments, and because of my history of this ailment and the pain,
I must tell you I did not have much hope, because the pain was
persisting and it had lasted so long. Also, my orthopedic surgeon
in Peoria had given me three options: continue with pain medicine
(ibuprofen, tylenol, vioxx, etc.) which really didn't seem to help
much; take cortisone treatment, which would be recurrently required
every so often and which would probably produce other damaging
side effects; and finally surgery, with a success rate of approximately
only fifty percent and the risk of coming out with even more pain
and injury.
Each of the first four treatments in your office did not seem
to alleviate the pain, but about two weeks after my fifth treatment,
the pain seemed to fade away, and I couldn't believe my own body.
I waited anxiously, and by the time I would have taken my sixth
treatment I continued to be pain-free. I was so elated that I told
my wife I wanted a sixth treatment whether I needed it or not --maybe
a little "overkill" I though to myself,-- because I wanted
to insure the success of the treatments.
My recovery is not mental or "suggested" just because
of the treatment, as the orthopedic surgeon seemed to suggest,
because I know in my own brain and mind if I have pain or not,
and now I have gone over two months without any sciatica pain.
For this I am indeed thankful to you, and so very relieved. The
pain was an anomaly because, even though I am 78 years old, I was
feeling so good in all other respects except for the sciatica.
Even my experience of jogging regularly, didn't stop the pain although
while jogging I sometimes seemed to force relief on myself, but
it returned within an hour after my exercise.
God bless you and your Marion. It seems that our hopes and dreams
are in safe hands with you.
You have my prayers and best wishes.
Respectfully,
R.C.
