All nutrition advice is RELATIVE
SOME OF THE MOST POPULAR DIETS IN AMERICA ARE THE FOLLOWING
• The Atkins Diet a high protein, low carbohydrate diet.
• The Zone Diet is 40/30/30 – an equal mix of carbohydrate/fat and protein.
• The Ornish Diet is mostly vegetarian diet.
• The Mediterranean Diet consisting of fresh food with emphasis on olive oil and whole grains.
As you can see, they are all very different from each other. Interestingly enough, everyone does not succeed on these diets, but some do. Why is that?
The answer to that question is this – there is no one single diet that fits for every person. These diets do not take into account individual variances in genetics, physiology, climate, as well as current health state of the individual.
The Mediterranean diet may work for a lot of people who live around the Mediterranean Sea and similar climate, but what about the rest of the human race?
The Atkins Diet originated in New York City by Dr. Atkins may work great for people who live in a colder New York climate, but what about people in California? They have the Ornish Diet which originated over there where the temperatures are much milder. Do you see the pattern forming?
These diets are often compared to one another in various studies. To me, this is a waste of time, because we could tell you the results ahead of time based on what we see in our patients at Caring Medical related to their blood pH levels.
We feel that you need to take into consideration where the studies were done when evaluating diet research. If it takes place in a colder climate, the Atkins Diet is going to win. If it takes place in a warmer climate, the Ornish/vegetarian Diet typically wins. As with anything, there are variances in these results, and certainly some patients who live in colder climates may have alkaline blood pH tendencies, but that is where genetics and current eating habits come into play.
In this picture of Ross and Marion Hauser you will see us participating in winter sports. A person such as Dr. Hauser who is a Hauser Lion will feel very cold and lethargic in the winter, where Marion who is a Hauser Monkey feels energetic and excited to be out in the cold!
Hauser Diet Typing: This testing process will show you how a diet system can be created to provide you with an individualized plan for weight loss, energy, and overall improvement in your health, wellness, and longevity! The Hauser Diet takes into account individual physiological variances that depend on the climate, the health of the individual, genetics, and everything else that affects a person’s individual physiology.
We have divided the Hauser Diet Types into five categories based upon how animals eat: the Hauser Lion, Otter, Bear, Monkey, and Giraffe Diet Types.
SHOULD I EAT AN ORGANIC STEAK OR FRESH VEGETABLES?
Common sense says eat real, non-processed food. That is step #1 – dumping the junk food, processed food, and food with lots of added chemicals. But now you must make choices as to which fresh foods will make you the healthiest.
It is easy to say fresh vegetables are healthier, but why not go down to the zoo and start feeding the Lions vegetables everyday? Let’s see how long it will take before the lions and tigers are dead! For the lion to have optimum health, energy, and wellness they must eat meat NOT whole grains, vegetables, and fruits that will make them tired, sleepy, and sickly.
Likewise, the giraffe and monkeys can not eat a lot of protein. Feed them a lot of chicken, beef, and pork and soon they will lie down and die! Bears need balance. They eat a mixture of berries and salmon.
The American Dietetic Association, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the American Heart Association and the rest of the American Government officials want you to believe the following basic tenants about nutrition:
Carbohydrates are great, so have 11 servings per day (food pyramid) Fat is bad, so eat as little of that as you can. Protein in moderation is okay, but stay away from red meat. Eggs are bad, so take out the yolks and eat egg whites.
Do all the above and your health will be great! WRONG!
NUTRITIONAL ADVICE IS ALWAYS RELATIVE TO YOUR HAUSER DIET TYPE
For the Giraffe or the Monkey, the above guidelines may work, because they need a higher carbohydrate, lower fat diet. Their bodies were made to efficiently process carbohydrates into energy. They will have optimum health, energy, and wellness by eating a higher carbohydrate, lower fat, lower protein diet. However, there is nothing inherently wrong with meat, eggs, etc.
The Lion, Otter, or Bear Diet Types would not do so well on such a diet. Put the Lion, Otter, and Bear on this diet and they will be at increased risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, stroke, heart attack, and premature death. They also will feel terrible most days.
If Lions, Otters and Bears are given more protein and fat than the above guidelines, they feel better and their health is improved. Put Giraffes and Monkeys on a high protein, high fat diet and they will be at increased risk of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, and premature death. Of course, they will also feel terrible and lack energy! Lions and Otters need eggs and other high protein, high fat sources because their bodies were made to efficiently process protein and fat into energy. Give them fat and protein (of course, we are talking about organic, natural sources of fat and protein) and they will feel optimal.
Summary: The Hauser Diet and its principles say that nutritional advice is relative. You can not tell someone they must eat like this or that unless you know that individual’s or group of individual’s Hauser Diet Types. Once you know their Diet Type, you can make all sorts of dietary recommendations for them to not only feel great and prevent disease, but also reverse diseases!
We need to get back to healthcare, not sick care. This can only happen if we have a revolution in the diet industry. In our opinion, the place to start is with The Hauser Diet!
If you do not know your Hauser Diet Type, we’d love to have you come in and get your blood tested so you can know your Diet Type for certain. This is the best way to know for sure how you should eat – by actually testing your blood.
