Are you feeling your best? Do you drag yourself out of bed in the morning?

Eating the right foods will give you the energy you need to do the things that you want to do, whether that’s completing a 26.2 mile marathon, doing regular exercise, or just feeling good throughout the day. If you're into sports, then eating well will also mean you'll be able to train and compete better with more endurance.

Eating the right foods will also help keep you mentally sharp! Who doesn’t want that?

Food is ENERGY
Food provides us with the energy or the fuel for our bodies to function. The building blocks (macronutrients) of food are protein, fat, and carbohydrates. However, the age old question remains, “what foods give me the most amount of energy?”

The answer:
It depends on your Hauser Diet Type.

What is “healthy” and energy-producing for one person, is not necessarily the case for another person because different Diet Types require different foods.

For example, let’s take a look at fruit. Fruit is 100% carbohydrate. Fruit contains nutrients and fiber, so therefore it’s considered “healthy,” right? Wrong!

Think about the testing we do for Diet Typing. One part of the test involves a glucose tolerance test with a 50 gram load of glucose (carbohydrates) in order to see how your body responds to carbohydrates. If your body oxidizes them well, you are considered a balanced oxidizer. If you oxidize them too quickly, you are a fast oxidizer; too slowly – a slow oxidizer. Therefore you can see how the oxidative rate portion of Diet Typing helps us figure out how well your body tolerates carbohydrates. Or another way to say it is, whether carbohydrates are considered “healthy” for your Diet Type.

Hauser LIONS are fast oxidizers of food and do not do well with carbohydrates. So fruit is not a “healthy” food that produces energy for the Hauser Lions.

Introduction to the Hauser Diet

Marion Hauser, M.S., R.D., explains the basic principles of the Hauser Diet and how it may help you understand what type of foods you need to feel your best, lose weight, and increase energy!

With over 15 years of clinical experience, we have developed a program that allows us to individualize diet plans for people who want to start on the road to wellness now.

We will show you how through testing, a diet system can be created to provide you with an individualized plan for weight loss, energy, and feeling better! The Hauser Diet

Lions need to look at a food such as nuts. Nuts contain protein and fat which are oxidized more slowly, hence they stay in the blood system longer. You don’t get that hypoglycemia feeling after ingesting them. So nuts are a very “healthy” energy-producing food for Lions.

We can hear your wheels turning now: ”Hum, does that mean that what I read in the journals and hear on TV is wrong." Well, unfortunately, the answer to that question is “yes.”

Remember: There is no one diet that is “healthy” and energy-producing for everyone! Diet Typing involves figuring out what your body needs to make it function best. We can tell this by testing your blood. There is no guessing. We have seen countless patients improve energy, just by changing the way they eat – the Hauser Diet way!

Lions boost your energy with:
Fresh chicken, beef, pork, turkey, lamb, veal, and fish; Nuts, seeds, soy, eggs; avocadoes, oils, full fat dairy.
