GOOD SKIN
GOOD SKIN There are a lot of things you can do for your skin by way of supplements. Below are some of the supplements that may be helpful in giving your skin a more healthy look by helping to nourish your collagen and immune system. Collagen, of course, makes up the stuff of connective tissue, including ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and the skin. And supplements are a lot cheaper than temporary, quick-fix collagen injections.
Vitamin A - Many believe this vitamin to be very effective for skin disorders such as acne and psoriasis. As an antioxidant vitamin A also helps enhance immune function.
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) - Another vitamin believed beneficial against psoriasis.
Folic Acid - Besides the fact that everyone should just take folic acid, folic acid has wound healing properties and may help clear those blemishes.
Vitamin B-12 - An essential nutrient, of the many things it does is help build proteins, which is what collagen is made of, which is what your skin is made of!
Biotin - has many benefits, including helping brittle nails.
Selenium - is a trace mineral that helps in the production of antioxidants. Evidence suggests selenium may help with acne and psoriasis.
Para-aminobenzoic acid - You may recognize this from its more well known acronym PABA, the ingredient in sun blocker. It has been suggested since the 1940's that PABA taken internally would have a beneficially effect on various skin diseases.
MSM - As an aid in healing, MSM helps repair damaged tissue in chronic pain and skin conditions. It may also help accelerate hair and nail growth.
Nettles leaf powder - The leaf form of this herb has been used for millennium for various remedies, it helps in hive and related skin disorders.
Horsetail grass powder - another herb that does many things, helping with brittle nails is one of them.
Saw Palmetto Berry Extract - Everyone knows this is the "Prostate," supplement. But Saw Palmetto also may be beneficial against hair loss.
