While the percentage of people who suffer from autoimmune disorders, is small (roughly 8% of the American population), the numbers are rising and those affected can face debilitating symptoms. Autoimmune disorders occur when the body views its own tissues as foreign and reacts with inflammation. Antibiotics are administered for bacteria, antivirals for viruses, antifungals for fungus infections, depending on what the results of the laboratory testing reveal.
