Pain in multiple joints

Prolotherapy to all your painful joints in one visit?
Yes. Some people suffer pain in many areas of their body and receive injections to many of their joints at one time. Some people spread it out over two days. Many of these patients are athletes who have injured various areas over the years and now have ankle, knee, low back, neck, middle back, and shoulder pain.Others are those with congenital conditions that lead to loose ligaments all over the body. Others are those with congential conditiosn that lead to loose ligaments all over the body, such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

What types of cases get whole body Prolotherapy?
People who have injuries to the joints, ligaments, tendons, and other joint structures because of accident, overuse, trauma, or genetics (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome).Dr. Hauser has performed what we call "whole body Prolotherapy" treaments on pro athletes, Ehlers-Danlos Sydrome, benign congenital hypermobility symdrome, fibromyalgia, and multi-trauma patients.

Is Prolotherapy the only treatment modality for whole body pain?
Typically we recommend that patietns with whole body pain get some blood work to make sure they are eating correctly and have a hormonal make-up for healing. The body responds best if it is in an anabolic (healing) state versus a degenerative state. People with fibromyalgia typically need a comprehensive natural medicine program and some of them will need whole body Prolotherapy. Most fibromyalgia patients Dr. Hauser sees here at Caring Medical have some body pain, but typically a few areas that make up the majority of their pain. These are the areas that first get Prolotherapy. If they respond well, then other areas are treated. Addressing the patient's overall healing status as well will help improve the process.

Here are some stories from some of our patients
Multiple Joints Healed with Prolotherapy
When sixty-year-old DM first visited Caring Medical, she told us her health goals were to “not become an invalid or have to use a wheelchair.” She experienced severe knee pain in her left knee, pain in her right knee and also in her shoulder, neck, low back, foot and ankle. She had see one orthopedist and two Prolotherapy doctors in her home state, but she had found no relief. As a mother, she wanted to rid herself of pain and be able to have a normal, active life. This is exactly what was accomplished by treating DM with Prolotherapy.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
Amanda has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). This is a syndrome that can affect every joint and ligament in the body. People with EDS like Amanda’s are typically in a wheelchair by the early 20's! Amanda had been a person in a wheelchair in the past, but she certainly was not when we first saw her. She had been receiving yearly Prolotherapy from Dr. Gustav Hemwall, and then started to see Dr. Hauser when Dr. Hemwall retired. She received Prolotherapy to just about all of the joints of her body over a two day period. It really helped her. She was able to work part-time and have a much more enjoyable life that others with her condition.  We see many people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in our clinic and are able to help them get back some normalcy in their lives. We have written a paper on treating Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome with Prolotherapy that you can read at www.prolotherapy.org.
