Prolotherapy Pain and Risks
Every medical procedure carries associated risks and even pain. In our opinion, so does living with chronic pain! Those of you who suffer with a painful condition or have a loved one in pain realize the detrimental effect pain can have on a persons life and the life of their loved ones. Pain can cause misery for all involved. Not only is the person miserable, but their bodies are physically affected leading to things like insomnia, inability to exercise, increased weight due to immobility, inability to travel, possible addiction to narcotic pain medications, decline in independence, often leading to family, relationship, and work collapses. Fortunately, Prolotherapy offers hope to those in pain. Our goal here at Caring Medical is to help the patients get back to doing the things they love to do.
Pain of the injections: As Dr. Hauser likes to say, shots are shots meaning they do hurt. However, we do all that we can at Caring Medical to make the process as tolerable as possible. You can read more about that in this section of the website.
Risks of the injections: Prolotherapy is no different than any other invasive medical procedure. Just the nature of the treatment in and of itself carries some risks. However, we feel these risks are outweighed by the benefit that the patient will achieve by actually finding a cure for their painful condition. We discuss the risks involved with Prolotherapy and how Dr. Hauser and our team works very hard to keep all procedures done here at Caring Medical safe and effective for the patients.
In this section you will also find pages that discuss FAQs related to pain, what to do for pain, other factors affecting healing of your pain, and ways to optimize healing.
