Timothy L. Speciale, DO
Education: I completed my undergraduate in 1976 at The State University of New York in Physical Therapy. My medical degree is D.O., Doctor of Osteopathy, from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. D.O.’s receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system. This training provides Osteopathic Physicians with a better understanding of the ways that an injury or illness in one part of your body can affect another. I have found that this specialized training gives me a therapeutic and diagnostic advantage for the types of pain and injury cases I specialize in.
Certification: Before attending medical school, I was a practicing, licensed Physical Therapist. After medical school, I was a Board-Certified Family Physician, practicing Family Medicine for six years prior to specializing in Orthopaedic Medicine. I have passed written and oral examinations and hold a Certificate of Competence in Sports Medicine. I am Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Integrative Pain Management and the American Certification in Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. For these certifications, I passed oral, written and practical examinations in my subspecialty.
Memberships: I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Medicine, the American Academy of Osteopathy and the American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Integrative Pain Management. The conferences I attend keep me up to date with new methods and procedures. I continue to study with some of the leading experts in the world in various disciplines to sharpen my skills. In addition, I have taught the conferences hosted by these associations for doctors who are starting to learn Prolotherapy.
Patient care: For many years, I ran a very successful Prolotherapy clinic in Williamsville, New York. I utilize Comprehensive Hackett-Hemwall Prolotherapy, Neurofascial Prolotherapy, Neural therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), and Stem Cell therapy. I also offer musculoskeletal ultrasound to compliment these services for patients who I feel would benefit from it diagnostically or during the Prolotherapy treatment.
Together with my wife Faith, we decided to move our life’s work and passion to Florida and join the practice of my long-time friend and colleague Ross Hauser, MD at Caring Medical. Often the hardships brought upon patients and their family and friends takes an emotional and spiritual toll, often going unnoticed in traditional medicine. We find it can be helpful to connect with patients about more than just their chronic pain, also addressing their nutrition and overall physical health, as well as their emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Treating the whole person can have amazing results in a person’s life and those around them.
I look forward to helping you or your loved one get the help they need for pain, arthritis, or injury.
