Dr. Hauser, why start the Journal of Prolotherapy?

When someone learns about Prolotherapy, especially somebody who has been cured of their pain by Prolotherapy, often times they’ll say, “Why didn’t I know about this years before? Why doesn’t everyone know about this? Why aren’t there Prolotherapy doctors on every corner? Why are there so many orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, all types of surgeons, but there aren’t more Prolotherapy doctors?” In simple terms, why would I, Caring Medical, and our consultants want to start the Journal of Prolotherapy? Well, the answer is simple; it’s to help you, to help everybody.

The mission of the journal is just to educate the world on the life changing effects of Prolotherapy. That’s a good cause; there are lots and lots of people with pain. Let me give you an example, the other day I had a dancer in the office by the name of Brenna. Brenna is her actual name. The reason that we need the Journal of Prolotherapy. She had a very bad injury, it wasn’t healing, nobody offered her any hope, and then she found out about Prolotherapy. Over the course of about six treatments she healed. Now she is able to dance and she is going to a job in California. If you saw Brenna, you’d know, Brenna’s worth it, and there are lots and lots of Brennas out there. In that sense, Brenna dancing is very important. Dancing is not very important to me, but to Brenna, it’s what gives her life, what gives her passion. When you talk to her about dancing she’s just a different person. She’s excited, she’s vibrant, she’s alive, and now she’s going to go to California to do some teaching and she’s going to get some other young people excited about dancing. They’ll become the kind of people we all need in the world, positive people making a difference. You could just talk about Brenna and all the people she represents. All the people that some of their dreams and some of their hopes have been lost because they are wracked with pain. They’ve spent all their money, they’re disabled, they can’t work, they’re not the father or mother that they should be. The reason for the Journal of Prolotherapy is to show Brenna and all the people she represents that there is hope.

And, there is hope. Your body right now is degenerated, but there’s a treatment, it’s non-surgical, it’s done very quickly in a doctor’s office, it doesn’t take a lot of time, you can exercise while you get it, it can improve your body right away, it works great, the safety profile is fantastic, and it’s called Prolotherapy. We need a journal specifically for that.

The Prolotherapy Journal is run by doctors and other people that know about Prolotherapy that can receive letters and articles not just from doctors, but from people that have already been helped. Unlike other medical journals, the Journal of Prolotherapy is for doctors and patients. It’s for them to tell their stories. If a doctor has just even one case where it is shown that a meniscus is regenerated and they have a before and after MRI, that can get printed in the Journal of Prolotherapy. It won’t get printed in a traditional medical journal, because there aren’t enough cases. But, we can print it. This is just a broad overview of why we need the Journal of Prolotherapy.
