We all know folks who broke a bone, then they wore a cast or splint for six weeks and it healed. Then others have a simple ankle sprain and months later they still have pain. Well, what most people don’t realize is that soft tissues, like ligaments, have a very poor blood supply. Soft tissues, like ligaments and tendons, actually appear white and the reason they appear white is there blood supply is terrible. Thus, they are notorious for not healing. About one third of soft tissue injures don’t heal; even if the person rests their injuries, does mild exercise, and does physical therapy. So people who have chronic soft tissue injury or ankle sprain or tendon strains that haven’t healed should consider Prolotherapy treatment. Prolotherapy works great in those instances. Prolotherapy injections, specifically, involve the injection of substances that stimulates the healing of soft tissue injuries. I think the treatment of choice for soft tissue injuries should be Prolotherapy.
