Video Transcription

My name is Ross Hauser I am a medical doctor and I have been utilizing Prolotherapy in the treatment and cure of chronic pain and sports injuries since 1993 here at Caring Medical and Rehabilitation Services. You are about to watch a Prolotherapy procedure being done. During the procedure, I will do the voice over and explain the actual procedure. Prolotherapy is utilized in the treatment of tendon injuries, ligament injuries, joint degeneration, and meniscus injuries. Although I am using the knee as a model, the actual procedure that you will be watching might be done in another area of the body. If you have any questions concerning this or any of the other Prolotherapy videos please email me at drhauser@caringmedical.com.

This video demonstrates the technique of Prolotherapy to the TMJ joints also called the Temporomandibular joint. Here the patient opens up her mouth and I am feeling for the TMJ joint. The Prolotherapy injections are done around the joint. We are injecting all the tender areas as well as the lateral TMJ ligament. Over time what this patient should experience is pain relief as well as a gradual reduction and hopefully an elimination of the clicking and pain associated with her TMJ syndrome. Here we are doing the other side again we are feeling for the TMJ joint, injecting into the joint as well as around the joint. You can see the patient grimaced a little bit, the procedure is a little bit painful but, it is done very quickly and is effective at eliminating the pain of TMJ syndrome.
