It all started in 1964 when I was having back problems for a number of years with no help. Dr. Frank Mayfield, who was the president of the American Medical Association and developed all the instruments for brain surgery, recommended after a thorough examination that I try Prolotherapy, which I had never heard of. He gave me a list of the Prolotherapy doctors. On that list was Dr. Hemwall, and I found out that he was the one that taught all the other Prolotherapy doctors and I said “that’s the one for me.”

We immediately made an appointment with Dr. Hemwall to see him and the minute we did we were impressed. He was also Christian and that impressed us and prayed for us. At the same time he started giving me injections. The day I arrived for my first injection, I flew in a plane because I could not sit in a car. I was almost bed ridden when he did this. Since then I have had numerous Prolotherapy injections over the years with great results and it has been a wonderful change in my life. As a matter of fact, just recently at age eighty six I just fished for five hours wading across stream and climbed up sixty four flights of steps with no pain. It has been highly successful and I realize that it may not be for everyone, but it certainly was for me.

My injuries probably started when I was weight lifting and ruined all those ligaments. Prolotherapy has changed my whole life, and today I am now with Dr. Hauser who studied under Dr. Hemwall. He has followed through with the same success rate so I feel that for anyone who has a back problem, surgery probably is not a good answer. As a matter of fact, Dr. Mayfield told me that he only had a fifty percent success rate with surgeries and he said “that is not good enough” and that is why he recommend Prolotherapy. I am sitting here right this minute with no pain and I can tell you without hesitation that Prolotherapy is not a one time treatment but neither is any other procedure a one time treatment. You may have to come back a number of occasions and in my case my neck was totally healed after three series of injections which can eliminate the pain that kept me awake for weeks. I was recommended to have surgery on my shoulder for my rotator cuff I canceled it and instead I had four injections to my shoulder and that was many years ago and I have had no problems.

I am sold on Prolotherapy and you will be too. Be patient and pay attention to what the doctor tells you afterwards. Unfortunately, many doctors don’t know about this. I cannot understand it unless you look at the surgery bills and maybe that is the answer. Believe me, try Prolotherapy. It can change your whole life as it changed mine. It is wonderful I can do almost anything with very few restrictions and I am now eighty six years-old and people tell me that I look better today than I did twenty years ago.
